Visions of Italy - September of 2014

Florence & Venice with
Visions Photographic Workshops

Beverly R. and Michael S. Miller

Sunday, September 7 – Sunday, September 14, 2014

This all-new, intimate, boutique photographic tour and workshop is limited to six photographers and currently has three openings available.

Florence the birthplace of the great artists Donatello, Rafael and Michelangelo, home of the historic landmark the Duomo di Firenze.

Venice the ‘City of Romance” birthplace of Giacomo Casanova, Marco Polo and Antonio Vivaldi has 400 foot bridges and 170 boat canals, and Piazza San Marco.

We will meet in Florence for two and a half days of making wonderful images and memories.  Florence is beside the banks of the River Arno and set among low hills clad in olive groves and vineyards.  We will wander and photograph the historic streets of the Duomo di Firenze, the sculptures and fountains of the Piazza della Signoria and the Ponte Vecchio the only bridge in Florence not destroyed in WWII.

A day will be spent traveling as a group on the eurorail from Florence to Venice.

Once in Venice we will have three full days to explore and photograph.  We will spend a day in Venice capturing bridges, gondolas and the Piazza san Marco before heading out to the islands of Murano and Burano for day excursions.

Know for it’s crystal and glass Murano is a treasure trove of photography opportunities with its century old structures, magnificent flower boxes and seemingly endless winding canals.

The Buranese have an age old tradition of painting their houses in chromatically bright colors that gives the island a very unique look and feel.  Also know for the lace industry this quaint fishing village will offer a plethora of creative opportunities.
