“Remember it’s not a photograph until it’s printed”
Develop your visual voice, hone your perceptual skills, and print your own, fine art black and white prints during this 3-day workshop.
Master Printer Michael S. Miller will present a philosophy of techniques and applications based on the masters, Ansel Adams in particular. You will use the examples and discussions of the masters as the basis for the development of your own personal approach to black and and white photography and print making.
Photography is not as complicated as it first appears or that we have a tendency to make it; it can be reduced to a few simple principles. You will learn the necessary fundamentals of both techniques, applications and exercise these skills.
We will head to the beach and boardwalk to learn how to pre-visualize the final print, making proper exposures and in camera composition, so you are not spending hours “manipulating” your images. When back in the studio learn how to use simple Lightroom tools and RAW files (DNG’s) conversion to continue your development of techniques and applications.
All photographers will print their own expressive photographs using our large format printers and Hahnemühle papers. You will also learn how to mat and frame your own photographs and walk away with one completed piece of your own.
Designed for photographers with a working knowledge of their camera, computer, Lightroom and have a portfolio of images to develop into fine art prints.
“…this was one of the best workshops I ever attended. I learned SO much. Thank you Michael.” – E.D.
