Start your weekend early and avoid the weekend crowds on this photographic journey. We will leave bright and early on the Belford Ferry to be one of the first groups up to the 102nd floor of One World Trade Center. Discover Manhattan, Brooklyn, and New Jersey and be inspired by an entirely new perspective –with a 360 view! Spend time on the Observatory floor of One World Trade Center exploring the expansive, panoramic views with Michael’s guidance and insights on capturing expressive and dynamic images. Michael will be teaching you the techniques needed to “stitch” together these images to create a panoramic in post process, from this exceptional perspective.
One World Trade Center is a shining beacon in the new downtown area and a bold addition to the NYC skyline. It is an artistically, dynamic building soaring a symbolic 1,776 feet. Time will be spent outdoors photographing this iconic NYC landmark. Between One World Trade Center and the Oculus is the 911 Memorial honoring the lives of those who were lost. The Memorial is a tribute to the past and a place of hope for the future.
Time will be spent photographing in the Oculus, the state of the art World Trade Center Transportation Hub. Some say it’s like a spaceship others say it’s cathedral like, however you interpret it, it is an incredible space with its white spires, graceful lines and curvatures all around you. It’s like being in a big white cloud in the middle of one of the busiest downtown areas of the world.
The majority of this photographic journey will be indoors, however you do not want to miss the opportunity to experience One World Trade Center and the Oculus from the outdoor perspective.
Lunch can be purchased at Hudson Eats in the Brookfield Mall conveniently located across from the 911 Memorial.
We will meet at the Belford Ferry @ 7:45am to catch the ferry into NYC and return to Belford at 6:00pm. There is plenty of free parking at the Belford Ferry.
Post Processing Jam session on Saturday, January 12th from 11:00 – 3:00pm at Visions home studio in Avon-By-The-Sea. Michael will be discussing creative concepts of stitching, such as selecting a projection, cropping, boundary warps and perspective controls. A discussion on the concepts of developing your new DNG file to create an expressive and dynamic panoramic photograph. Time permitting you can walk away with a panoramic print (additional fee).
