Macro Photography is an increasingly popular type of photography. Explore special techniques for creating artistic, up-close photographs in a enjoyable, casual and relaxing environment.
Discussions will include equipment options, lighting, backgrounds, choosing your subject, depth of field, and tips for using a macro lens. You will begin indoors learning macro techniques in a studio type atmosphere, and (weather permitting) go outdoors to explore natural light macro photography in our sculpture garden and along the river front.
Studio lighting and various props and still life items will be provided, however you are welcome to bring your own props. The class consists of discussion, practical skills with Michael’s personal guidance.
For best results macrophotography requires a 50mm or 100mm macro lens. You also need to have a tripod. Stability is everything in photography. A tripod helps to improve your composition and sharpens your image and allows for hands free focusing.
