Do you have an amazing camera with endless functions only you are afraid to take it off of automatic? Today’s cameras offer you unlimited creative opportunities once you begin using the manual modes and understanding that photography is about the light – not the camera!
Begin with a discussion on how the elements of depth of field, shutter speed, ISO and more affect your final results. Photography is understanding how these “technical” elements, combined with composition and light merge to create powerful photographs.
Saturday morning will be photographing along the Belmar Marina River Walk with your camera’s in manual modes exploring different light conditions and compositions. Michael S. Miller will be by your side guiding and inspiring you to create interesting and powerful images. The afternoon will be spent reviewing, and discussing the mornings results.
By the end of this workshop you will have acquired an understanding of the manual modes on your camera, how to merge the technical with the creative, and why light is what it is all about. As always, our photography workshops are limited to six photographers allowing Michael to provide individual attention to everyone in a relaxed and energized atmosphere.
SPECIAL OFFER: Register for Lightroom 101: Library Module and receive 10% of the advertised price. This is designed to establish and/or improve your organization and workflow.
Hello Beverly & Michael,
Thanks so much for a very informative and helpful workshop on basics of photography. I learned a lot and I feel like I have much more control over my camera as well as the satisfaction of creating a photo and not letting the camera do it for me. I hope to attend some of your other workshops and/or events.
