Winter Expedition to Yellowstone National Park
Two years in the planning and Visions Winter Expedition to Yellowstone is just a day away!
Michael and I are very excited to share our 25+ years of experience and passion of Yellowstone National Park with our team of five photographers. As always our expeditions are designed for small, intimate groups.
Michael and I are amongst an elite group of licensed guides in Yellowstone National Park permitted to guide photography trips in the park.
As always my responsibilities for this expedition is the logistics. The planning of this expedition started over two years ago and will come to fruition on Sunday.
We will be exploring the most scenic and magnificent locations in Yellowstone in a private, heated snow coach allowing for us to set the day’s agenda. Yellowstone has a rare magic year round, however winter exemplifies it’s wonder and magic.
We will experience magnificent sunrises and sunsets overlooking the incredible geyser basins, frozen water falls, pristine white snow against brilliant blue skies, shaggy herds of bison shaking off the snow in the grand vistas of Hayden Valley and if we are lucky the elusive Yellowstone wolf.
Our five photographers braving the sub freezing temperatures will be rewarded with awe-inspiring beauty. At the end of our exhilarating days we will relax around a crackling fire, sharing our experiences with a bottle of wine; and I’m hoping the chef’s at the Snow Lodge still create their incredible mushroom ravioli with truffle oil MMMMM…..
Last minute check list: all of our gear is ready to go, snowshoes, yak-tracks, trekking poles, cold weather clothing; layers and outerwear, gloves, hats, and warm boots – it gets really cold out there.
Michael is checking his camera gear, sensors are clean, enough memory cards, primary camera and always a secondary, back up camera body just in case. “And Michael don’t forget those extra batteries! Remember the cold!”
Our flights are confirmed and I have the itinerary of our team of photographers, and all shuttles and dinner reservations are confirmed, Leica is all set to hang out with her favorite dog sitter while we are out of town.
A journey of creative exploration…
